Congratulations to Ricky Henderson and Jim Rice
I wanted to send my personal congratulations to Ricky Henderson and Jim Rice for being inducted to Baseball’s Hall of Fame last weekend. What a great honor for the both of them. I had the honor to play with Ricky in Toronto. Ricky got traded to Toronto around mid season in 1993 and was a big part of us getting to and winning the World Series. It was fun playing with Ricky and watching the way he played the game. No question he was one of the best lead off hitters of all time not to mention the absolute best base stealer.
Jim Rice was an incredible baseball player. I didn’t get the chance to play against him, but watching him hit was a thing of beauty. He had power, could hit for average and play defense in Fenway Park. To think that the Red Sox had only three left fielders in decades…..Ted Williams, Carl Yaz and Jim Rice.
